All the moving when she started high school caused her grades to slip and after her first year of high school she was held back a year. Now a senior she was the only 19 year old in her class, which didn’t improve her attitude about school. However, one day a girl name Liv and her friends found Kaitlyn eating alone during lunch and sat with her. The girls were part of a gang but shared a lot of the same issues as Kaitlyn. She and Liv became friends.
Kaitlyn and Liv’s friendship evolved into a relationship. It was shocking the things Liv knew about lesbian relationships and she taught them to Kaitlyn, a fast learner. The two were inseparable, Liv’s mom, Lyra, was happy Liv had a friend that didn’t look like one of the Hell’s Angels. She really liked Liv’s mom and would come by even when Liv wasn’t home. She wished her mom was more like Lyra. Lyra had a much different wish about Kaitlyn.
