It was her first day at her new job. A virtual heat wave had been beating down upon the city day and night rendering A/C impotent. Deborah knew the weather was going make it quite difficult getting comfortable around her boss. And her boss seemed to exploit that.

Deborah’s first day started out with a sweaty handshake, and Deborah blushed as she wiped her palm on the side of her dark blue suit. Miranda her boss took a seat at her desk. Finally motioning for Deborah to sit down as well. Her smile wasn’t lost on her at any moment. Miranda seemed cordial to Deborah, but she felt awkward around Miranda. But when leaving, Miranda, asked Deborah out for an after work drink. Deborah finally relaxed.
They drove to a quiet bar compared to what Deborah had pictured for their ‘little drink’. While they talked over drinks, Deborah realized in the chaos of her nervous first day, and the stifling heat she had left her keys and her wallet in her office. After much debate Miranda insisted that Deborah stay had her place for the night. Quite humbled, Deborah accepted, and soon they were in Miranda’s quite opulent condominium.
Well as it turned out, Deborah stayed with Miranda for the weekend, and in that time the two learned much about each other. Miranda treated her new hire like a VIP, apologizing for the ineffectiveness of her A/C. The two of them laughed and carried on like teenagers and in the end the two had an entirely different view of the other. Miranda took the position of mentor to the younger girl and made certain she got all the hands on attention she needed.
