It was a Saturday when Bailey received a call from Hayden. Hayden and Bailey had gone to the same high school. Her last minute request, due to her reservation for a Caribbean cruise being canceled. She asked if she could stay with Bailey during Spring Break since she already had the uncanceled flight to Florida booked.
Hayden had found out from her parents that Bailey wasn’t coming home during break because of her part-time job–and would lose it if she missed a week. Even though they lived only a few miles away in Cincinnati, Bailey had not had a chance to visit Hayden since Bailey had transferred to the small Florida college. So, knowing she’d have the daytime free–no classes during the week-long break–she agreed to host her high school friend.
After Hayden arrived, the two girls decided to head for the mall and give in to their mutual vice–shopping. Since last seeing her, Hayden had turned out to be a really bright kid with a wonderful sense of humor. Traipsing from shop to shop, they discovered they still had similar tastes in clothes, music, movies and TV shows. Both forgot the nearly three years they’d been apart, as they laughed and giggled. It was going to be a great week.
