A seasoned yachtsman and an old friend of Meredith’s, Geoffrey Stout, introduces Meredith to a girl he plans to marry within the month. Discovering the Sinuosa planet is not a temperate climate, and the population is a matriarchal society, Aelia and her crew find themselves arriving in a barren wasteland of mostly desert, and the locals are not as hospitable as she had hoped. The final solution Aelia arrives at is to have the crew take concubines and convince them to return to Ceti Alpha VI on their space craft.
