In Southern California it was Semester break and Wendy was off from school.  She was 20 and in my senior year at USC in the mid-1960s.  She was a pretty good-looking girl at 5’7″, and slim, with a cute face.  Of all the sororities at school, I was in one that focused on the brainier and athletic students for their membership. Not the pin-up party girl types. At her age, Wendy knew she was quite naïve about the ways of the world and hoped she could use the break remedy that situation.

Wendy’s older sister had recently been discharged from the Navy about 6 months ago and was living in New York. She invited Wendy to come out and spend her break with her in New York. While Wendy was there her sister invited a girl, Jayne, who she knew from the Navy to spend the night.  She was about 35 and very good looking. One morning after her sister had left for work, Jayne went to Wendy’s bedroom for a chance to get to know one another.

The time flew as the two women talked about almost everything, and Wendy was thinking how she was attracted to Jayne. Then Jayne realized the time has grown late and had to leave. Before she left, she told Wendy where she’d be staying, ask her to come over for interesting get togethers her friend had on Saturday nights. Wendy knew she would do whatever it took to see Jayne again and promised her she would come.
