Joi has been studying to be a sorceress since she was six. Following in her dead mother’s footsteps she is a day away from the day the decision is made if she can be named a sorceress. It depends on whether an Archmage selects her as an apprentice.
Her heart is set on passing her finals and getting selected by her idol Feyth as her apprentice. Joi is unaware that her mother and Feyth had once been lovers before her death. So the obvious choice for Feyth was Joi. Feyth wisely withholds the information of their relationship from Joi.
The two adapt to the Mistress and Apprentice relationship effortlessly and in the process, the two develop a deeper relationship that surprises Joi. Due to the nurturing Feyth provides the young apprentice provides a new zest for life within the elder Sorceress. Will that end if Joi ever learns of her mother’s involvement with Feyth? Should Feyth tell her? That gnawing question plagues the Archmage daily.
